The development of sports facilities, gained the council's attention with Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in his debate comments explained that a large scale facility provision requires reviews with a long-term investment efficacy.

Yang Berhormat said the government encourages the involvement of the private sector in the development, management and maintenance of sports facilities, at the same time has the potential to generate local economic growth as well as establish new job opportunities. In line with this, the Ministry has and is actively implementing the Request for Proposal (RFP) initiative to open up opportunities to local companies to develop sports facilities.
